Evelyn Dianna Hudson

Evelyn Dianna Hudson, born on April 2, 1943, in Duhring, West Virginia, passed away on October 7, 2024, at her home in Salisbury, North Carolina, at the age of 81.

Daughter of the late Joseph Benjamin Harris and Willie Glen Harris, Evelyn was one of 11 siblings, survived by her brother Elwood Harris. She was predeceased by her siblings Joseph, Theodore, Hazel, Edith, Clara, Dorothy, John, Byard and Helen.

Evelyn is survived by her children: Dianna Shankle, Pete Sanderlin, Gloria Sanderlin, and Ronald Sanderlin. She was also a proud grandmother to Matthew, Jeff (Danielle), Christopher (Kendall), and Madison (Joseph), and had eight great-grandchildren.

Evelyn worked at the International House of Pancakes (IHOP) for 30 years and Sara Lee (Hanes) for 10 years, always valued for her hard work and dedication.

Known for her warmth and generosity, Evelyn was a second mother to many in her extended family and community. Her loving presence will be greatly missed.

A funeral service will be held 12 PM Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home, Silas Creek Chapel with Ida LeNeave officiating. Burial will take place 10 AM Monday, October 14, 2024, at Parklawn Memorial Park.
