Evelyn Sizemore

Evelyn Atkinson Sizemore of Clemmons, North Carolina passed away November 1, 2017 after a lengthy illness. She was born, the fifth child, to Sally Odom & Benjamin Houston Atkinson of Darlington, South Carolina. She moved to Winston-Salem in the 1950s and attended Hanes High School, graduated in 1960 and married Richard W. Sizemore on July 14, 1960. They were devoted to one another and recently celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary. They resided in Clemmons 38 years. She was employed at Hanes Industries, NC Baptist Hospital, Peace Haven Baptist Church and Bradford Insurance. She was an avid bowler and secretary for the Triad Women's Bowling Association for 30 years and received a tribute for 40 years of attendance in the National Women's Bowling Championship.

She is survived by husband Richard W. Sizemore, sons: Richard L. Sizemore (Karen Flynn) and Patrick W. (Debra) Sizemore, Grandchildren Justin (Shelley) Sizemore and great-grandson, Elliott, and Granddaughter Kayla (Wesley) Matthews. She is survived by siblings Juanita Atkinson Gilliard (Dave) of Morganton & Benny Atkinson (Faye) of Tennessee and preceded in death by her parents and siblings Ann, Bill, Bobby, Herbie and Crystal.

Family will receive friends at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel from 6-8pm on Friday, November 3, 2017. Graveside services will be held 11am Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Parklawn Memorial Park with Dr. Mary Miller officiating and Dr. Matthew Burton providing music.

Memorials can be made to Clemmons Food Pantry.
