Florence Barr Hampton

Mrs. Florence Barr Hampton, 97, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Clemmons Village II. She was born April 12, 1927, in Surry County to the late Cosba and Jettie Wilkins Barr. Mrs. Hampton was a faithful member of Grapevine Baptist Church and the Lewisville Joy Club. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. Preceding her in death was her husband, Early Hampton; son, Ronnie Levens; a great-granddaughter and three brothers, C.F. Barr, Kenneth Barr, and Bill Barr. Surviving is a daughter, Barbara Mathis (Richard); son, Johnny Levens; daughter, Sherrie Couch (Ronnie); son, David Levens (Anita); daughter, Debbie Jarvis (Jim); 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; also surviving is a sister-in-law, Clara Barr. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Westlawn Gardens of Memory with Rev. Ronnie Comer officiating. There will be no formal visitation, but she will be available for viewing for friends from 9-5 on Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel. The family would like to thank the staff at Clemmons Village II, especially Erin, Wendy, Terry and Jarrod. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grapevine Baptist Church, 7905 Grapevine Rd.
