Frances McGee Chaney

Kernersville – Mrs. Frances McGee Chaney, 92, daughter of the late David Foster McGee and Ruby Deal McGee, died peacefully on Thursday, February 5, 2026. 

In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Chaney; one daughter, Cathy Chaney Maracic; and two brothers, Ed and Johnny McGee.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Susan Chaney Canter; son, Robert Lawrence Chaney (LuAnn); six grandchildren, Shannon Chaney Proctor, Lindsay Elrod Gramm, Brent Elrod, Matthew Maracic, Brandon Chaney, and Andrew Maracic; 13 great grandchildren; two brothers; Bobby McGee and Glenn McGee; and four sisters, Imogene McGee Bevins, Connie McGee Rankin, TexieAnn McGee Wilson, and Judy McGee.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 1:45pm prior to the service at the funeral home. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
