Frances Vaughn Gough

Frances Vaughn Gough, 91, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2025, at her home. She was born in Forsyth County on October 2, 1934, to the late James and Fleta Burrow Vaughn. Mrs. Gough was an active member of Union United Methodist Church. She graduated from Old Richmond School and was the class Valedictorian. Mrs. Gough worked and then owned Chandler-Smith Oil Company for 45 years. Preceding her in death was her husband, James Gough; grandson, Mitch Gough and 10 brothers and sisters. Surviving are two daughters, Janet Seats (Hal) and Lynn Gough (Rodney Horne); son, Danny Gough (Joann); six grandchildren, Phillip Seats (Jennifer), Catherine Eddleman (Mickey), Randall Pitts (Andrea), Brittany Mote (Casey), Dana Myers (Matt), and Jeff Gough; eight great-grandchildren; brother, George Vaughn (June); also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, October 5, 2025, at Union United Methodist Church with Pastor Randy Perdue officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Saturday at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Union United Methodist Church, 8935 Shallowford Rd.
