Frances Holloman

Frances DeShazo Holloman “Fran” passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2026 at Mallard Ridge Assisted Living Center.

Fran was born on April 27, 1931 to Daris and Anna Mae DeShazo. Her early life was spent moving from town to town and state to state as her father’s job changed. She met the love of her life James Flanagan “Jim” Holloman in 1950 at a dance. She went home and told her mother she had met the man she was going to marry. They were married 6 months later. They lived their whole married life in Winston-Salem, NC where she was a mother and homemaker. She thought of those as her profession. They were very active in Central Terrace Methodist Church and in the Konnoak Hills Lions Club. Fran was also an avid bowler. She was proud of the fact that she had bowled for 35 years and had made so many friends while traveling around the United States competing in tournaments

She is predeceased by her husband Jim whom she loved dearly, her parents, and a sister Edna Earl Story.

Fran is survived by her children: Larry Holloman and wife Kathy who she lovingly referred to as her number 2 daughter and Lindy Kiger and husband Todd. Her grandchildren Travis Holloman (Beth), Matthew Holloman (Mary) and Jamie Oliver (Heather). She is also survived by her great grandchildren: Jaxon, Noah, Ben, Riley, Emily Holloman, and Mahlon Oliver.

The family will hold a celebration of life on Thursday, May 21st at 12 PM in Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, 3315 Silas Creek Pkwy, Winston-Salem, NC 27103, followed by a private committal service in Parklawn Memorial Gardens.
