Mrs. Frances Lunsford Martin, 79, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2016, at The Oaks at Forsyth. Mrs. Martin was born in Forsyth County on April 2, 1937, to the late Sam William Lunsford, Sr. and Pansy Almeta Spicer Lunsford. Frances graduated from Gray High School and was employed with the Sarah Lee Corporation. In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Don Edward Martin; one son, James G. Parks; a sister, Pat McGarvey; and one brother, Sam W. Lunsford, Jr.. She is survived by four sons, David M. Parks of Winston-Salem, Jeffrey A. Parks (Carol) of Winston-Salem, Von E. Martin (Kelly) of Winston-Salem, and Lex G. Martin (Joe) of Clemmons; 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Joan Coggins of Winston-Salem and Wanda Rice of Asheville, NC. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 16, 2016, at Parklawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Chris Elliott officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Saturday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
