Frances Martie Oxendine

Frances Martie Oxendine, 58, of Winston-Salem, NC passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born on April 13, 1968, in Forsyth County, NC to James Samuel Embler and the late Mary Frances Trull Embler.

Martie loved to ride horses and spend time with her beloved family.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Andrea Lashmit; and brothers, Robert Brian Embler, and Chris Allen Embler.

She leaves behind her loving husband, Lacy Oxendine; daughters, Andrea “Andi” Williams, and Shashina Rose Oxendine; grandchildren, Brian Knowles, Brianna Knowles, Elijah Lashmit, Layla Rose Oxendine, Carlton Oxendine, and Elaya Carlton; father, James Samuel Embler; brother, Michael Keith Embler; niece, Lena Elizabeth Redmon; and nephew, Ronnie Eugene Bowman, Jr.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00pm on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Francis Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel.
