Frances Lewis Smith

Mrs. Frances Lewis Smith, 94, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2023, at Universal Health Care in King. She was born on August 19, 1928, in Stokes Co., the daughter of the late J. Willard Lewis and Gladys Mae Page Lewis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ransom “RC” Smith, Jr.; her daughter, Ann Lewis Smith Darnell; a son-in-law, Thomas W. Darnell; and sister, Mary Kathryn Lewis Neal. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sue and R.V. Wall of Rural Hall; three grandchildren, Jennifer Leigh Darnell of Winter Haven, FL., Robert Michael Wall (Amy) of Tobaccoville, and Kent Allen Wall (Jessica) of King; a great-granddaughter, Mallorie Brooke Wall of King. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at Salem Chapel Christian Church Cemetery in Walnut Cove with Pastor George Murray officiating. The family would like to thank Jay Waldroup, the Trellis Supportive Care Team and the staff of Universal Health Care for the excellent care given to Frances. She will be missed deeply by everyone who knew her.
