Francis Murphy, Sr.

Mr. Francis Harold “Honey” Murphy, Sr., 77, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2020.  He was born March 14, 1943, in Forsyth County to the Everette and Minnie Murphy.  Honey retired from Vulcan Materials with 38 years of service.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.  Honey is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Lynn Murphy; four children: Christy Tate, Harold Murphy, Jr., Robert Tate, and Angela Bradshaw; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his K-9 companion, Little Buddy.  A funeral service will be conducted 12:00 Noon Friday, December 18th at Berean Baptist with Dr. Ron Baity officiating.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon prior to the service at the church.  Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Berean Baptist Church, 4135 Thomasville Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27107.
