Mr. Francis ""Frank"" Wylie Powell, Jr., 66, of Lewisville chose to go home and be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born January 20, 1950 in Richmond, VA, the son of the late, Francis Wylie Powell, Sr. and Rebecca Scroggs Powell. Mr. Powell served with the US army during the Vietnam War. He graduated from Winston-Salem State University with a Master's Degree in Nursing. He was a Nurse Practitioner with Grover Clinic who provides services at Winston-Salem Nursing and Rehab. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis Powell. Survivors include his wife, Loree Blue-Powell of the home; three daughters, Margret ""Lizzie"" Powell of Raleigh, Brette Powell of Lewisville; and Rebecca Ogburn (David) of Tobaccoville; three grandchildren, Alice-Kay, Emma, and Rocklyn Ogburn; two brothers, Miki Powell (Marcia) and Terrence Powell (Marilee) of Hayesville; three nephews, Mark Powell, Dave Powell and Joe Powell; and two nieces, Jessica Armstrong and Mary Heather Payne. There will be a celebration of Frank's life in January with the date, place and time to be announced. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Winston-Salem State University, 601 S.
