Francis "Sam" Wilkes, Jr.

Mr. Francis Brian ""Sam"" Wilkes, Jr., 68, of Lexington, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2016. Sam was born in Forsyth County on February 17, 1948, to the late Francis Brian Wilkes, Sr. and Ruth Carter Chadwick Wilkes. He retired from Norfolk Southern Railway with twenty years of service and was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose. Sam was a member of Our Father's House Ministries in Winston-Salem. Sam is survived by his son, Francis Brian Wilkes, III and wife, Rebecca of Seattle, WA; one daughter, Angela Biles and husband, Jeff of Apopka, FL; and four grandchildren, Colten Biles, Reign Biles, Alessandra Clingerman, and Kayla Disco. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Jeffrey Dowell officiating. Entombment will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
