Frank Martin Tharpe Sr.

Mr. Frank Martin Tharpe, Sr., 90, of Advance passed away Monday, October 24, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born October 23, 1926 in Wilkes County to Conard Cornelius and Ada Johnson Tharpe. Mr. Tharpe retired from Southern Bell with 42 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Betty of the home; two sons, Frank Martin Tharpe, Jr. of Advance and Howard Craig Tharpe of Pfafftown; three grandsons, Frank Martin Tharpe, III and wife Jennifer, Jacob Craig Tharpe and Tucker Bryce Tharpe and wife Cayce; a great grandson, Frank Martin Tharpe IV; two special former daughters-in-law, Dare Smith Tharpe and Terry Woodall Ramsbotham; a brother, Conard C. Tharpe, Jr. and a sister, Hope Tharpe Combs. A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel with a former fellow Deacon of Reynolda Presbyterian Church, Bob Smith officiating.
