Mrs. Freddie B. Allen, 89, passed away quietly on Sunday evening. She was predeceased by her parents, Ernest E. Bodenheimer, Sr. and Susie Burcham Bodenheimer; her husbands, James E. Fansler Jr., Coy Davis, Troy B. Allen, and Jack H. Flynt; son, Daniel E. Fansler; and four sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her children, Vicky L. Fansler of Greensboro, Mark B. She assumed various careers throughout her life including work at Brown Rodgers Dickson where she was voted Ms. Brown Rodgers Dickson in her early 20s, Western Electric, Sears Roebuck, and provided care for the elderly as a CNA. She took pride in contributing to the local Veterans Administration Ladies Auxiliary and served in the offices of President and Secretary at various times. She was a member of Woodland Baptist Church, charter member of Old Town Baptist Church, and was proud of her Moravian church heritage with the celebration of the Christmas Love Feast. She was self-taught and smart. And, she supported her children and grandchildren, so they could pursue their chosen fields of study and work. She was organized and worked to maintain a clean, comfortable home. She really enjoyed vacations with the family and trips with her sisters. She always had a funny story to brighten the day and have a good laugh. Freddie was known and loved for her sense of humor. She loved to say that her husbands came from every branch of the service; Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines. Everybody she touched loved and respected her and wanted her as a friend. And, she was a good, honest and generous person. She was a loving mother, wife, grandmother and sister and will truly be missed by us all.
