Mrs. Freddie Vaye Davis Hobson, 85, of East Bend went home to be to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born January 9, 1933, in Forsyth County, daughter of the late James Arthur Davis, Sr. and Lessie Bell Angel Davis. When she was three months old, her mother passed away. She was raised by loving parents John Dallas and Sarah Rebecca Hutchens, her father's half-sister. A loving mother and pastor's wife, she was a member of Mount Bethel Baptist Church in East Bend. In addition to both sets of parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Lawrence Dalton Hobson; her son-in-law, Bennette R. Williamson; three brothers, John Davis (Vera), Ezra Davis, and Paul Davis (Beatrice); three sisters, Olive Dale Smitherman (Donald), Vernie Mae Kirk(Max), and Louise Hutchens Cole; two brothers in-law, Odell Key and David Reavis. Surviving are two daughters, Catherine Hobson (Ted) and Carolyn Williamson-Perez (Fernando); one son, Ronald L. D. Hobson, Jr. (Kristel); one granddaughter, Skyler Hobson; three sisters, Juanita Key, Betty Simmons (Dillard), and Becky Reavis; two brothers, James A. Davis, Jr. (Jean) and George Davis; sister-in-law, Maude Davis; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 AM at Mount Bethel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home on Silas Creek Parkway.
