Frederick Louis Smith

Frederick Louis Smith, 74, of Kernersville, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at his home surrounded by family.

Mr. Smith was born March 11, 1952, in Forsyth County, to Frederick Rangell Smith and Willie Lee Stancill Smith Burrow. Frederick retired from Varco Pruden as a Senior Estimator after 43 years of service. In his retirement, he remained a very talented woodworker and musician. Frederick also greatly enjoyed the outdoors and being on the water, whether he was on a sailboat or in a kayak. He adored his family and will be greatly missed. In addition to his parents, Frederick was preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Burrow; and his sister, Pattie Cook.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 54 years, Saprina Peddycord Smith; two sons, Derrick Smith (Melissa), and Corey Smith; five grandchildren, Mikayla (Zach), Aly, Kaleb, Kasey, and Maddie; and two great-grandchildren, Braedyn, and Bentley.

A celebration of life service will be scheduled for a later date through The Way Fellowship of the Triad.
