Frieda Mae Bowman Pilcher

Mrs. Frieda Bowman Pilcher, 98, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away on March 26, 2026, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Frieda was born in Forsyth County on May 4, 1927, to the late Mr. Fred Franklin Bowman and Mrs. Daisy Swim Bowman.

Frieda enjoyed buying, collecting and reselling antiques. She was the owner of Frieda’s Antique and used furniture for over 30 years. Frieda was a faithful wife, mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in passing by her husband of 70 years, James Herman Pilcher.

Mrs. Pilcher is survived by her daughter, Sandra Hailey (James); two grandchildren, Cindy Pierce and Lisa Laws (Bill); and one great grandchild, James Laws.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at 11:00am, at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with Dr. Rick Speas officiating. There will be no formal visitation held.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fraternity Church of the Brethren, 3760 Fraternity Church Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27127.
