Gary Lee Cox

Mr. Gary Lee Cox, 73, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away after a brief illness on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at his home.

He was born on July 28, 1953, to Dorothy Ann Baity Cox and the late Elmer Wilson Cox in Yadkin County, NC.

Gary was a devout Christian who loved serving the Lord, and attended Berean Baptist Church for many years. He owned and operated an independent car dealership, and thoroughly enjoyed his career. In his free time, Gary enjoyed hunting and fishing. Above all, his number one priority was his family.

Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Dorothy Ann Baity Cox; his wife, Kristina Cox; daughter, Brittany Lynn East; son-in-law, Matthew Thomas East; son, Mark Damon Cox; brothers, Ricky Wilson Cox, Bobby Joe Cox, and Terry Wayne Cox; sister, Kathy Ann Cox; grandchildren, Calissa Lynn Cox and Tyler Lee Cox; great-grandchildren, Emerald Sky Carter and Kaison Lee Carter; and his mother-in-law, Yuzhi Zhang.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00PM on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow the service at Holly Hill Memorial Park in Thomasville, NC.
