Gary Dwain Sisk

Pastor Gary Dwain Sisk, 69, passed away Monday, June 5, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center. Gary was born on October 21, 1947 in Mecklenburg County to the late Walter Blackwell and Dorothy Williams Sisk. He retired from Varco-Pruden with over 30 years of service and served as the Associate Pastor of Liberty Baptist Church. Gary faithfully ministered to the residents of five local rest homes and also worked with the Bus Ministry at Gospel Light Baptist Church before coming to Liberty Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Karen Sisk; three children, Amy Sisk, Eric Sisk, and Wendy Sisk Baker (David); two grandsons, Isaiah and Levi Baker; two sisters, Pam Schmidt (Jerry), and Cynthia Brown (Robert); and one brother, Eric Sisk.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 9, 2017 at Liberty Baptist Church, 1548 Old Hollow Road, Winston Salem, NC 27105, with Pastor Gary Styers and Dr. Bobby Roberson officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 8, at the church.
