Gayland Harden Tate

Mr. Gayland Harden Tate, 68, of Lexington, NC, passed away at his home on June 23, 2025. He was born on September 23, 1956, in Forsyth County, to the late Mr. Archie William Tate and Mrs. Toni Lee Atwood.

Gayland worked as a roofer for over 20 years up until retirement. He was a hard worker and always had a willingness to help anyone who needed it. He loved everything outdoors, fishing and music. There was nothing more important to Gayland than his family. He was a loving Father and Pawpaw who willed be deeply missed.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Tate was preceded in passing by his daughter, Christina Tate, a son, Gayland Tate Jr., a brother, Archie William Tate Jr,; and a grandson, Malachi Tate.

Left to cherish his loving memory is his partner, Cheryl Tate; two daughters, Natasha Tate and Whitney Tate (Nina); 15 grandchildren, Mariah, Michael, Maleah, Mitchell, Marshall, Maria, Malaysiah, Isaac, Gina, Hailey, Sutton, Will, Chelsea, Hunter, and Trevor; and two great grandchildren, Briella and Kingston.

There will be a Celebration of Life service held at a later date.
