Gaynell McMillan Long

Mrs. Gaynell McMillan Long, 71, of Winston-Salem passed away Monday, January 18, 2016, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born on November 4, 1944, in Danville, VA to Minnie Rachel and Alvis McMillan. She was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. She was an accountant for the Department of Defense, serving in Turkey and South Korea, among other places. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant daughter, Deanna Lynn Long. Surviving are two daughters, Tonya Flynn and husband Roger of Gambrills, MD, Nikki Lincoln and husband Andrew of Crofton, MD; six grandchildren; one brother, Pete McMillan and wife Sarah; two sisters, Faye Cameron and husband Hap; Mary Moorefield; numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Forsyth Humane Society, 61 Miller St., Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
