Mrs. Gaynelle George Shelton, 85, of Winston-Salem, passed away Monday, November 19, 2018. She was born March 18, 1933 in Patrick County, VA, to the late Conrad William George and Margie Epperson George. Mrs. Shelton was a Teacher’s Aid and retired from the Winston-Salem Forsyth County School System after many years of service. She was a longtime member of Triad Baptist Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Preceding her in death are her parents. Surviving are: her husband, Cecil Shelton; four children: Mike Shelton (Cathy), Steve Shelton (Sandra) of Lexington, David Shelton (Denise), and Lisa Atkins (Kevin) of Kernersville; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Eleanor Eaton (Charlie) of Mocksville; and a brother, Mack George of Westfield. A funeral service will be conducted in her honor 10:00 AM Saturday, November 24, 2018, at Triad Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Rob Decker. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel. The family will receive friends 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Friday, November 23, 2018, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Online condolences may be made at www.Hayworth-Miller.com.
