Gene Hanson

Mr. Gene Allan Hanson, 73, passed away May 10, 2018 at the Hospice Home at High Point. He was born July 24, 1944 in Waseca County, Minnesota to the late Clifford Benoni Hanson and Laura Ethel Anderson Hanson. He retired from Overnite Trucking Company with over 25 years of service. He enjoyed spending time with his friends at the Kernersville YMCA and enjoyed watching his favorite team the Minnesota Vikings. Mr. Hanson is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Vickie Younger Hanson; his son, Marc Allan Hanson (Amy); his daughter, Regina Hanson Oligmueller (Tony); his grandsons, Reece Allan Hanson and Trevor Oligmueller; two brothers, Ron Hanson (Gloria) and Laurel "Shorty" Hanson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Gene will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and a genuine friend to all who knew him. The family will receive friends from 10:00am until 11:00am on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel followed by a memorial service at 11:00am in the funeral home chapel officiated by Pastor Jeff Wall. Inurnment will follow at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262.
