George Snell Ball, Jr.

Mr. George Snell Ball, Jr., 89, passed away at his home on April 19, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born in Syracuse, NY on December 9, 1936, the son of the late George Snell Ball, Sr. and Ava Hawker Ball. Mr. Ball served his country proudly in the United States Air Force, from where he retired with 20 years of service. After retirement from the Air Force, he worked for Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools as an Assistant Maintenance Supervisor. George made many friends throughout his career. He had a special love for all children in his life. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Riedner, and two brothers. George is survived by his wife of 45 years, Brenda Ball; his children, Penny Lehman (Bruce), Kelli Grabow (Joe), Todd Ball, Jeffrey Ball, John Sapp (Jennifer), Bryant Sapp, Lisa Dain (Jim), Kelly Ball, Eugene Ball (Brande), Andy Ball, Garlon Ball, Josh Ball, Ashley Ball, Angel Faucette (Will) and Selena Ball ; two special children, Ethan and Cory; his grandchildren, Jordan Hall (JT), Jessica Sapp, Nick Dain (Kristen), Angie Penninger (Michael), Lainey Faucette, Bailor Faucette, Noah Ball, Miliani Ball, Caroline Ball, Abby, Gracie, Michael, Austin and Matthew. George is also survived by many great-grandchildren and extended family. A graveside service with military rites will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at Crestview Memorial Park with Pastor Greg Hall officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30 prior to the graveside service at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.
