George Oscar Bradshaw

Oscar Bradshaw, 85, passed from this earthly life Tuesday, May 23, at his home in Clemmons, NC. He was born August 18, 1931, in Port Arthur, TX and was a loving husband, father, Granddaddy and Great Daddy. He was preceded in death by his father, Granville Bradshaw, his mother, Ora Moss, and a special uncle and aunt, W.J. and Selena Bradshaw. Also, preceding him in death were his son, Richard Bradshaw; his brother, Billy Bradshaw; and two sisters, Ann Staley and Nellie Perkins. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Sarah Bradshaw, two sons George Bradshaw, wife Tracy, and John Bradshaw all of Clemmons, NC; three brothers, Walter Bradshaw, Charles Bradshaw (Dixie), James Bradshaw and one sister, Nada Jean Welch; five grandchildren, Sara Jo, Daniel, Bryan, Brittany, and Noah; 12 great grandchildren, and numerous special nieces and nephews along with a host of friends. He was a current member of the Linville Forest church of Christ in NC and was a longtime member of the Richmond Hill church of Christ and Twin City church of Christ in West Helena, AR. Upon graduating high school at Barton, AR, Oscar proudly served four years in the US Navy. Oscar held several jobs during his career, but the one he felt most rewarding was his time spent in the funeral industry. He looked at this as a ministry which allowed him to help others during their time of need. Serving others, no matter how small the gesture, brought Oscar joy and was something he did at every opportunity. The family will receive friends at Hayworth Miller Kinderton Chapel, 108 East Kinderton Way, Advance, NC Thursday, May 25, 6 to 8 pm. Funeral service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, May 27, at Twin City church of Christ in West Helena, AR with burial following at Central Cemetery, West Helena, AR. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Twin City church of Christ in West Helena, AR or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
