George Hobert Robertson, Jr., 80, loving husband, devoted father, world’s best Papaw, and good and faithful servant of Jesus Christ, entered the joy of his Lord on Sunday morning, June 29, 2025, from his home in Lexington, NC.
He was born the first time on September 18, 1944, in Winston-Salem, NC to the late Hobert and Mildred Robertson. In his thirties he prayed, “God be merciful to me a sinner,” (Luke 18:13) and was born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead to an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for him. (1 Peter 1:3-4)
Left to cherish his memory are his wife and sweetheart since childhood, Sharon “Cherry” Robertson; daughter, Angie Bauguss (Darin); sons, Tim (Tracie) and Terry Robertson; grandchildren, Jessica Yarbrough (Chad), Katelyn Boggs (David), Aaron Bauguss (Julia), Hannah Bauguss, Dallas Robertson, Matthew Bauguss (Aubri), Lauren Robertson, Evan Bauguss, and TJ Robertson; great-grandchildren, Carter and Libby Yarbrough, Michael, Lucy, Finely, and Ronan Boggs, and Sally Bauguss; siblings, Sharon Robertson, Randy Robertson (Judy), and Andrea Ledford (Harold); and dozens more extended family members who all loved him dearly.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, July 3, 2025, in the Chapel of Memory at Parklawn Memorial Park.
