George Sidden

GEORGE ALEXANDER SIDDEN died Tuesday, October 10, 2017. He was the son of Tom and Louise Sidden. A lifetime member of Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, where he served as a trustee, an usher, and as Chair of the Graveyard Committee. George "G.A." and his high school sweetheart, Peggy, were married in the church parsonage in 1959. Over the years, through love and fierce devotion, they created a strong family: children SuAnne and Scott Ray, Chris and Mary Sidden, and Jonathan Sidden; grandchildren Elizabeth and Josh Schaefer, Jennifer and Aaron Bender, Christopher David Sidden (3/85-5/85), Sara and Tyler Beamon and Emily Sidden; and great-grandchildren Cailen, Christopher, Micah, Landon, Arthur, Ben, Ailey, and Edith. A celebration of his life will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, October 15, 2017, at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, with Rev. Dr. Mary Miller officiating. A visitation with the family will immediately follow the service in the Family Life Center. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, 4265 Ebert Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27127. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
