George Stone

Mr. George Willard Stone, 85, passed away Sunday, June 03, 2018 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born January 20, 1933 to the late James Willard and Addie Moon Stone. Mr. Stone was a veteran of the U.S Marine Corp and later retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. with 33 years of service. He was a member of the Church of Christ at Ketners and enjoyed fishing and raising a garden. Preceding him in death was a daughter-in-law, Martha Stone and a grandson-in-law, Gary Dunn. Surviving is his wife of 65 years, Jean C. Stone; two sons, George Robert Stone and wife, Angel of Advance and James Richard Stone and wife, Brenda of Advance; seven grandchildren, Lucy Dunn, Gini Brewster and husband, Justin, Will Stone, Andrea Stone, Elizabeth Blakeney, Alex Stone and wife, Britt, and Jake Stone; seven great-grandchildren, Katie Albertelli and husband, Joe, Ella Dunn, Colten Williams, Isaac Williams, Martha Rose Brewster, Dorian Stone, and Kayla Blakeney. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at the Church of Christ at Ketners with Mr. James Percival and Mr. Jerry Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Tuesday at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel.
