George Sullivan

Mr. George Maryland Sullivan, went to be with our Lord on Friday, July 13, 2018 at the age of 87. He was born April 5, 1931 in Calypso, NC. He proudly served his country and retired after 25 years in the Army. He was a dedicated Christian and served as Chairman of Deacons at Southfork Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. He shared God's word and prayed until the very end. He was a loving husband and father who put God and family above all, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his infant son, George Allen Sullivan. He is survived by the love of his life, Gladys Sullivan, whom he married on his birthday in 1952; son Gary and wife Edith; son Ken and wife Margy; daughter Shirley Harkey and husband Michael; Granddaughter Amy Smith and husband Bryan; Grandson Aaron Sullivan (The Gov) and wife Erin; Great-Granddaughter Breanna Smith, Great-Grandson Gavin Sullivan, and Great-Grandson Riley Sullivan.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 19, 2018, at Fort Bragg Main Post Cemetery in Spring Lake, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Hospital or local church in honor of George.
