George "Wayne" Triplett

George “Wayne” Triplett, 89, passed away surrounded by family at home on January 12, 2026. Wayne was born on December 6, 1936, to Clinard “Elmer” Triplett and Helen Virginia Waters Triplett in Boone, NC.

He enjoyed a successful career with Holiday Tours as a tour bus driver, retiring after 30+ years. Wayne attended Calvary Baptist Church; he earned the US Merchant Mariners Certificate; he loved a good game of golf.

In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his brother, Dwayne Triplett.

Surviving are his loving wife, Kathy Greene Triplett; daughters, Debbie Aston (Winston), Pat Locklear, and Kim Triplett (Steve); granddaughters, Ginnie Triplett and Avery Locklear; sisters, Geraldine Woods (James), Josie Watson (Riley); sister-in-law, Audrey Greene (William); Tommy Rayle, whom he loved like a son; many special nieces, nephews, great nephews, and many special friends.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, January 16, 2026, at Westlawn Gardens of Memory Mausoleum Chapel with Pastor Kenny Newberry and Pastor Glenn Davis officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trellis Supportive Care.
