George Woodward Jr.

Mr. George Walter Woodward, Jr., passed away Thursday, March 23, 2023.  He was born September 5, 1942, in New Jersey to the late George Walter Woodward, Sr. and Alice Halscheid Woodward.  George proudly served his country in the United States Navy.  Many things brought him joy in life, but nothing more than art, reading, photography, and his dogs, Teddie and Moxie.

In addition to his parents, George is preceded in death by his son, Scott Woodward.  He is survived by loving wife, Sandi Marion Woodward; grandson, Raymond Woodward; four siblings: Charles “Chick” Woodward (Kathy), Alice Coggins (Jeff), Don Woodward (India Bruce), and Ron Woodward (Pam); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday March 29, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Wesley Sink officiating.  The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice home for the continued and loving care and also to CeCe Varnum for her comforting and uplifting music.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
