Georgia Robertson Burcham

Mrs. Georgia Robertson Burcham, 97, of Winston-Salem, passed into the presence of her Savior on Friday, January 31, 2014. She was born November 23, 1916 in Winston-Salem to George Frank and Emma Peddycord Robertson--and lived her entire life within a 2-mile radius of the West Salem neighborhood where she grew up. A devoted homemaker in her 58 years of marriage to James Carl Burcham (who preceded her in death in 1996), Mrs. Burcham drew great comfort in her last years from her family and many friends from Salem Baptist Church, of which she was a lifelong member. Surviving to cherish her memory are her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and June Burcham of Pfafftown; her daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Mickey Foster of Winston-Salem; grandsons Christopher (and Amanda) Burcham of the home, Stephen (and Susan) Burcham of Fairbanks, AK, and Michael Foster of Winston-Salem; and two great-grandsons Michael (and Amanda) and D.J. Burcham. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Salem Baptist Church with Dr. Howard Wilburn and Rev. Christopher E. Burcham officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
