Geraldine "Gerry" Briden

Geraldine “Gerry” Briden, age 87 from Winston Salem, formerly of Pemberville, Ohio entered the arms of Jesus her Savior on December 17, 2023.  She was born December 1, 1936, to Fred and Leah Hileman in Waterloo, Iowa.  On June 6, 1958, she married her high school sweetheart, David Briden also of Waterloo, Iowa.  Dave and Gerry shared 53 years of marriage.

Gerry was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister.  Surviving is a son Jeff (Rachel) Briden of New Jersey, a daughter Denise (Steve) Wuthrich of North Carolina a brother Fred (Debbie) Hileman of Florida; grandchildren Janelle (Chris) Hamel of Massachusetts, Jared Briden of New Jersey, Philip Wuthrich of Massachusetts, and Jonathan (Brittany) Wuthrich of TN; great-grandchildren, Clark, Emma, Luke, Elena, and Silas.

Gerry will be remembered for her love for family, love for her church family, generosity, teaching children the Bible, and willingness to work behind the scenes to support others. A favorite hymn describes Gerry’s thoughts towards meeting Jesus, “When by His grace I shall look on His face, that will be glory, be glory for me!”    

Friends may greet the family Friday, December 22, 2023, at noon at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Winston Salem.
