Geraldine Hudson Lawson

KERNERSVILLE - Ms. Geraldine Hudson Lawson, 72, died Sunday, December 23, 2012, from injuries sustained in a car accident. Geraldine was born on March 20, 1940, to the late Preston O. and Nellie Beasley Hudson. She retired from Lucent Technologies / Western Electric. Geraldine has been a resident of Kernersville for 41 years and was a member of First Christian Church. In addition to her parents, Geraldine was preceded in death by two brothers, Milton and Ervin Hudson; and one sister, JoAnn Tucker. Surviving are two sons, Joe William Lawson, Jr. (wife, Cyndy) of Winston-Salem and Gary R. Lawson of Kernersville; one daughter, Tracy Earhart; two grandchildren, Bethany Hutchins (fiance', Cody Thomas) and Kacey Hutchins; two brothers, Herbert Hudson (wife, Judy) of Winston-Salem and David Hudson (wife, Cindy) of Hickory; four sisters, Lilly Anderson (husband, Roger) of Winston-Salem, Virginia Gant (husband, David) of Belews Creek, Wilma Stilley (husband, Raymond) of Winston-Salem, and Cathy Price of Charlotte; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, December 28, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Wayne Branch officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church of Kernersville, 1130 North Main Street, Kernersville, NC 27284.
