Gilmer 'June' Sechrest, Jr.

KERNERSVILLE - Gilmer ""June"" Sechrest, Jr., 85, passed away Monday, April 30, 2012 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital. He was born April 11, 1927 in Guilford Co. to the late Gilmer Sechrest, Sr. and Edith Bull Sechrest. Mr. Sechrest was a United States Army Veteran and retired from the textile industry. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Phillips Sechrest and his sister, Clara Boyles. Surviving are two daughters, Brenda S. Cline and husband, Don of Colfax, Janet Dybowski and husband Richard of Greensboro; two sons, Eddie Sechrest and wife Gwen of Winston Salem, Michael Sechrest of Kernersville; fourteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Thomas Sechrest and wife, Vera, and Clinton Sechrest all of Colfax. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Colfax Baptist Church with Rev. Beauford Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Wesleyan Church Cemetery.
