KERNERSVILLE – Gladys Griffin Loflin, 92, passed away Monday, June 10, 2019 at Walnut Ridge Assisted Living. Gladys was born August 20, 1926 in Madison County to Cleveland and Virginia Griffin.
Gladys was a faithful member of Kerwin Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. She worked at Loflin Concrete, the family business, until her husband’s health declined. Gladys was a great cook, loved to work in her flowers, and raise her garden, canning her harvest and sharing with others.
In addition to her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, T.Frank Loflin; a son, Tommy Loflin; a grandson, James Loflin; two brothers; and one sister.
Surviving are her daughter, Cynthia Loflin; two sons, Butch Loflin (wife, Denise), and Barry Loflin (wife, Betty); six grandchildren, Chad Loflin (Amy), Jason Loflin, Amy Loflin Wall (Barry), Phillip Loflin (Ragan), Cheryl Hunke, and Sharon Carter; eight great grandchildren; and one brother, Buck Griffin.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at Kerwin Baptist Church with Pastor Daniel Hawtree officiating. Entombment will follow at Gardens of Memory Mausoleum in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kerwin Baptist Church, 4520 Old Hollow Road, Kernersville, NC 27284 or Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Ln, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff of Walnut Ridge Assisted Living and Hospice for their loving care of Gladys.
