Glen Ward

Mr. Glen Samuel Ward passed away early Sunday morning December 10, 2017 at his home. He was born in Forsyth County on November 11, 1937 to the late John Ward and Pearl Leftwich Ward. Glen retired from Hanes Hosiery with 31 years of service. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather, who was very talented in many areas and an avid collector. Glen loved cars and racing, that he and the Ward family had always participated in. He was preceded in death by his wife Juanita Newman Ward; two brothers Everette and Gene Ward; and two sisters Fay Bodenhamer and Ethel Mabe. Glen is survived by his sons Frank Ward and wife Tina of Lexington, NC and Randall Calhoun and wife Sakor; a daughter Carol Cartwright Newman; life partner Ann Merritt; granddaughter Ashley Ward Joyner and husband Dennis; two great grandchildren Emma and Camden; a brother Olin Ward; and sister Ila Mae Maranville. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on December 12, 2017 at Woodland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Monday December 11, 2017 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
