Glenda Gay Holler, a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2025, at the age of 81.
Born on November 19, 1943, in Charlotte, North Carolina, she was the cherished middle daughter of Gordon Elmer Holler and Margaret Proctor Holler. Glenda treasured her family deeply, especially her sisters, Dixie and Peggy, with whom she shared a lifelong bond. She often spoke with joy and gratitude about their modest but love-filled childhood in western North Carolina. Her fond memories of growing up together were among her most cherished stories, ones she delighted in retelling to family and friends.
A proud graduate of R-S Central High School, Class of 1962, Glenda devoted her life to serving others. She worked for decades as an admissions specialist in hospitals and clinics across Virginia and North Carolina, touching countless lives with her kindness and compassion. She retired after 30 years of service from Novant Specialty Hospital Admissions in Charlotte, where her dedication and warmth left a lasting impression on patients and colleagues alike.
Glenda’s greatest joy was found in the simple but profound things she loved: her family, her passion for North Carolina, her friends, her beloved dogs, music from every genre, good books, and the peace of a quiet rainy day. Her gentle spirit, generosity, and unwavering love for those around her made her a steady source of comfort and strength. Glenda will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
An inurnment service for family and friends will be held later this year to celebrate her life and honor her memory.
