Glenda Williams Marr

Mrs. Glenda Williams Marr, 88, passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born on August 16, 1937, in Guilford County, NC to the late Thomas Daniel Williams and Lucille Johnson Williams. Glenda was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of First Baptist Church of King since 2013. Prior to join First Baptist Church of King, Glenda was a member of Northridge Baptist Church in Rural Hall where her husband served as pastor for over 20 years. Glenda had a passion for teaching and nurturing children. She opened her home and dedicated her life as an in-home daycare provider. Besides her love for children, she enjoyed traveling. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Marr; stepson, Bill Marr, Jr.; and one brother, Harmon W. Sullivan, III. Glenda is survived by her daughter, Rachel Marr; stepson, Darrell Marr (Penny); three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Marie Hill; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. A funeral service will be conducted at 11am Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Hayworth-Miller Chapel in Rural Hall. Interment will follow at Rural Hall Memorial Park. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
