Glenn Rayburn Cates

Mr. Glenn Rayburn Cates, 41, died on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at Wake Forest Baptist Health. Glenn was born on July 18, 1975, to Keith and Vicky Cates. He graduated from Forbush High School in 1994, enjoyed listening to music, and played the guitar and drums. Glenn's final act was to give the gift of life through tissue donation, he was dearly loved and will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Jackie Mayes; paternal grandparents, Aaron and Irene Cates; step-father, Michael Everhart, and one step-brother, Patrick Callahan. Surviving are his mother, Vicky Everhart; father and step-mother, Keith and Phyllis Cates; step-brother, Keith Cates; furry companion, Stacey; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, July 17, 2017, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. A private interment will follow the service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Wake Forest Baptist Health ICU unit 5-B for all the wonderful care they gave Glenn and his family during this difficult time.
