Glenn Faison Rowe

Mr. Glenn Faison Rowe, 54, passed away on January 24, 2016 at Wake Forest Baptist Health. He was born on January 13, 1962 in Newark, NJ and raised in Wilson, NC by his mother and grandfather. Glenn graduated from Greene Central High School in 1980 and stayed close to his graduating class over the years. After receiving a football scholarship he attended Winston-Salem State University. He continued his education while serving in the U.S. Army. During his military career, he served his country in Germany and was deployed to Afghanistan during Desert Storm in 1992. He worked in a special narcotics division of the Military Police. Glenn was a follower, a disciple of The Way of the Lord Jesus Christ for many years. A life-long learner and effective communicator, Glenn shared his love for God's Word. He kept his lessons creative, thus inspiring other students to investigate their faith. Among the things he learned was the blessing of family and close friends, the truth, and living life with purpose. He was very thankful and took every opportunity to enjoy quality time and travel with family and close friends. Glenn was also a big sports fan for many years. Glenn was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Rowe Sauls. He leaves loving memories to his wife, Jackie Reyes Rowe; son, Ben Rowe (Alexis Dunlap); sisters, Rosa Rowe and Delmarie Sauls, both of Wilson; nieces, Shannon Rowe and Tameika Sauls; nephew, Kristopher Rowe; great-nephew, Gamyn Sauls; and uncles, James Rowe and Johnny Rowe both of Wilson, two sisters in-law; Wanda Reyes Lopez (Oscar Lopez) and Deanna Reyes Chavez (Willie Chavez), niece; Tamara Gonzalez, nephew; Andrew Chavez Reyes and a host of cousins of the relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Ira Berger officiating. A reception will follow the service at the funeral home. There will be a private inurnment at Salisbury National Cemetery.
