Gloria Diane Orr

Gloria Diane Orr, 61, of Winston-Salem, NC passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at Wake Forest Baptist Health. She was born October 18, 1961 in Forsyth County. Gloria was a graduate of Parkland High School and later in life graduated from Phillips Junior College in Winston-Salem.

 She was a member of St. Peter’s World Outreach Center (SPWOC) in Winston-Salem for at least 5 years or more. Gloria was an entrepreneur and owner of her own business, Creative Hair Designs By Glo, a great beautician with blessed hands that would create fabulous hair styles and growth results. Gloria loved her son beyond measure; and enjoyed recently becoming a grandmother for the first time. We all will miss that contagious laugh that Gloria had.  We love you and we know you are at Peace in the Father’s loving arms.  

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Wesley Orr and Shirley Ann Roberts Orr and her brother Gregory Leon Orr. Left to cherish her memories are; her Son, John Wesley Orr and girlfriend, Lamia Garcia and their daughter, Kalia Orr; two sisters, Faye Orr Sturdivant (Kerry) and Nikki Orr; two brothers, Thomas L. Orr, Sr. (Cheryl) and Samuel L. Orr (Joanna); a very special Aunt, Sharon Roberts and cousin, Frederick Roberts.

Her Siblings Children (nieces and nephews) are Thomas L. Orr, Jr., Tamika Clayton, Christopher Bailey, Shanikia and Dewann Sturdivant, Alexander Samuel-Orr, Samantha and Sarai Orr, DeAndre Durant, Jaydon and Janiya Hickman, as well as many great nieces and nephews, and a host of beloved relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday, September 15, 2023 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
