Gloria Nunez Schmidt, 78, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2014 at her home. She was born April 17, 1936 in Tampa, Florida to the late Domingo and Marina Castillo Nunez. Ms. Schmidt enjoyed cooking and gardening. She was a faithful member at Harmony Grove United Methodist Church. Preceding her in death was her husband, Frank Schmidt; son, Thomas Schmidt, and a brother, Jaen Nunez. Surviving is a daughter, Carol Kiehn; two sons, Frank and Michael Schmidt; 4 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Harmony Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Greg Freeman officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Harmony Grove United Methodist Church, 5041 Styers Ferry Rd. Lewisville, NC 27023 or to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
