Gorrell Tate

Mr. Gorrell L. Tate, 95, formerly of Winston-Salem died Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Sunrise at North Hills in Raleigh.  He was born September 26, 1923 in Winston-Salem, the son of the late John Calvin and Clevia Marshall Tate.  Mr. Tate was a member of Old Town Baptist Church.  He graduated from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1952. He was immediately employed by A.M. Pullen & Co. C P A’s now McGadrey & Pullen.  He was elected as a general partner in 1965 and retired in 1987.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth A. Tate and his son, Steven Tate.  Survivors include two daughter, Mickie T. Mizelle and Tina Royals (Mark Seibel); two grandchildren, Tate May (Cecilie) and Chris Mizelle (Ashley) and one nephew, Phil Gentry (Sue). A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Forsyth Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Old Town Baptist Church Building Fund, 4386 Shattalon Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27106.
