Grace Richardson Early went to her heavenly home on December 5, 2014. She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, R. P. Early Jr, her brother Robert Earl and his wife Adelaide. Grace was born in Philadelphia, Mississippi on March 9, 1926. She grew up farming, singing, fishing, playing basketball and riding horses. She received her bachelor's degree from UT (Tennessee) and did post graduate nursing work at Duke University. She met and married the love of her life, Roland P. Early Jr. in 1950, and moved to Winston-Salem, NC where she remained. She taught nursing at Baptist, City, and Forsyth Memorial Hospitals. She also taught home nursing for the Red Cross. She was head nurse of the Psychiatric Dept. at Forsyth and team coordinator for the Peer Review Foundation based in Raleigh. After her retirement, she worked part-time for Salem Psychiatrics. Grace loved to sing. She sang in church at Centenary United Methodist, Where she was a 64 year member. Grace also sang for sweet Adeline's and Shepherd Singers. In her retirement, Grace became a Stephen Minister at Centenary. She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Lynn ""Debi"" of Winston-Salem, and Karen Grace Beham of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Also surviving her are her son-in-law Robert Beham of Malaysia, her grandchildren Matthew Jared Beham of San Antonio and Andrea Beham Anderson of Houston, Texas and their spouses Haley and Tarl. She is also survived by the newest member, Elliotte Suzanne Beham, her great granddaughter. Services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Arbor Acres Robinson Chapel. Visitation will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Samaritan Ministries, or Stephen Ministry in care of Centenary United Methodist Church.
