Greta Gibson, 81, of Winston-Salem died Friday, April 19, 2013 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born on September 17, 1931 in Winston-Salem to Carlos E. and Edith Beamon Wilson. In 1985, she was proud to be formally adopted by her devoted stepfather, Aaron C. Hartle. Greta was a graduate of James A. Gray High School and Draughon's Business College. In 1955 she married the love of her life, Thomas E. Gibson. Greta was employed for many years as a secretary with Drs. Stamey and Parsley and at Advent Moravian Church. She was a lifelong Moravian. Mrs. Gibson was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Anna and Jim Holloway of Hayes, VA; and two sisters-in-law, Eunice Montgomery and Ora Mae Gibson. Her family was the joy of her life. A service, celebrating the lives of Greta and Tom Gibson, will be conducted 11:00 am Thursday, April 25, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Tim Byerly officiating. Memorials may be made to Sunnyside Ministries, 319 Haled Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27127, or to Hospice and Palliative Care Center , 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
