Gwendolyn Mohr Emory

Gwendolyn Estelle Mohr Emory, aged 91, of Winston-Salem, passed away peacefully at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home on April 17, 2025. She was born on November 4, 1933, in Elk Grove, CA, to Hazel Christina Stone Mohr and Walter Hale Mohr. She graduated from Galt High School in California. Gwendolyn resided in Gloucester Point. VA for many years; then twenty years in Rangley, Maine prior to coming to Winston Salem.

Gwendolyn dedicated many years to the banking industry and embraced her role as a military wife. She had a passion for reading novels, sewing, and planting flowers. She will be fondly remembered for her loving nature, kindness, and generosity towards all she encountered.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hazel Christina Stone Mohr and Walter Hale Mohr; her husband, Arthur S. Emory; her son, Lloyd A. Emory; and her brothers, Robert R. Mohr, Harland H. Mohr, Marvin M. Mohr, Larry L. Mohr, and Wendell W. Mohr.

Gwendolyn's legacy continues through her surviving children, Cynthia Emory and Steven H. Emory (Anne); her brother, Darryl Damon Mohr; her daughter-in-law, Sharon A. Emory; her brother-in-law, Lloyd H. Emory; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter on the way; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Susan G. Komen Foundation, Hearing Loss Association of America, and John Ritter Foundation.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.
