WINSTON-SALEM-Mr. Hal ""Maurice"" Clayton, 75 of Winston-Salem, passed away at his home on Wednesday, September 24, 2014. He was born on May 9, 1939 in Alamance County to the late Floyd W. and Mildred King Clayton. He graduated from Haw River High School and served in the National Guard. He spent the majority of his career in sales before retiring in 2004. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sylvia Clayton and three brothers, Currie, Carl and Fred Clayton. He is survived by his daughter, Keely Richardson and husband Lester; two sons, Hal W. and Edward M. Clayton; two grandchildren, Jade and Joseph Richardson; and many beloved members of the Clayton, King and Clark Families. A Celebration of his Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 4th, 2014 at Red Slide Park in Haw River, NC. In Lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Senior Services of Winston-Salem, 2895 Shorefair Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27105.
