Mrs. Hallie Jarvis Redmond, 99, of Davidson, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2018. Mimi, as she was lovingly called by family and friends, was born to Amos and Susan Zimmerman Jarvis in Winston-Salem on September 15, 1918. She married Edgar Frazier Redmond on April 13, 1941, at Salem Baptist Church parsonage as Dr. Charles Stevens officiated.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years. She also outlived her five sisters: Beulah Thomas, Viola Jarvis, Thelma Hammons, Dale Johnson, and Helen Mendenhall, and two brothers, Elsie and Herbert Jarvis. She is survived by her son, Edgar F. Redmond, II (Patricia Patterson Redmond); two grandsons, Edgar F. Redmond, III (Kimberly Smith Redmond) of Lexington, SC, and Christopher Ryan Redmond of Mooresville, NC; five great-grandchildren: Edgar F. Redmond, IV, Cooper Randolph Redmond, Jensen Arlene Redmond, Samuel Carter Redmond, and Jackson Ryan Redmond.

Mimi was dedicated to her family including much loved nieces and nephews. She also loved to garden and cook, and was known for her ability to grow tomatoes and make her famous pecan-chess tarts.

A graveside service will be conducted in her honor 3:00 PM Thursday, June 7, 2018, at Forsyth Memorial Park, officiated by Dr. Jerry Cloninger. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Mooresville, 150 South Church Street, Mooresville, NC 28115. Online condolences may be made at www.Hayworth-Miller.com.
