Harold Corn

Harold Virgil Corn, 89, passed away at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home on January 5, 2023. He was born on September 11, 1933, to Pauline Haymore Corn and Cornell Gray Corn in Surry County. As a young man, Harold proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War. He later enjoyed a successful career as owner-operator of two Aamco transmission shops in Greensboro. Following retirement Harold remained active, working with his son, Ricky at his printing business. In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Elaine Wood Corn; son, Steven G. Corn; daughter, Sharon Denise Steelman; and daughter-in-law, Beth Corn. Surviving are his son, Ricky Corn (Laura); grandchildren, Jimmy Steelman III (Gretchen); Jason Steelman (Shanna); Britt Corn, Kasey Corn, Daniel Corn, and Chase Corn; and 7 great grandchildren. He was an active member at New Hope United Methodist Church. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, January 12, 2023, Forsyth Memorial Park with Rev. Suzanne Michael officiating. Memorials may be made to Trellis Supportive Care and New Hope United Methodist Church.  The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM, Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
